    How We Met

    Of all places, we found ourselves matching on Bumble. Zack likes to call it the "pocket dimension." We texted for a few weeks, really getting know each other.

    Our First Date

    Our first official date was at the 401 restaurant in Houston. Zack was nervous, and Allison was too. Allison walked in, and saw Zack sitting at the table. When Zack saw Allison, he stood up and waved with a smile on his face. Allison would never forget that moment. It was the start of something new.

    Falling in Love

    The 2nd date was the real deal. We met at a movie theater to see the new Lilo & Stitch. It was great, but the time after was even better. Allison asked Zack to stay and talk for a bit. We sat in a booth in the lobby and talked for hours. We were so caught up that we didn't realize the theatre had closed and they were escorting us out. As we walked to our cars, under the moonlight, Zack asked Allison if he could kiss her. There was a hushed yes, and we kissed for the first time. In this moment, we both knew we were falling in love.

    Let the love commence!

    It felt fast, but we knew in our hearts that we felt a strong love and connection for each other. Allison turned to Zack, and we stared into each other's eyes. Allison said, "I know it's fast, but I think I love you." Zack looked at her and said, "I think I love you too." And from there, it thrived.

    Building a Life Together

    Zack moved to Baytown, and Allison soon moved in with him. It was a big step, but we knew we were ready, because neither of us wanted to see each other leave. We were ready to build our lives together.

The question

The Proposal

August 22, 2026  •  Houston Botanical Garden

It was a hot and humid day in Houston. Zack had been planning the proposal for a few months, and was beyond nervous. But he had a plan. He had his Mom, and Allison's family there to enjoy the beautiful garden. Though it was such a overwhelming heat, the time we were spending together was special as a family.

Zack honeslty had no clue where he was going to propose, but he knew he wanted it to be a special place. Allison's Dad had sped across the garden to find the perfect spot. There was a beautiful secret garden. Quickly Zack went in behind Allison, got down on one knee, and said "Allison." She turned around, unsure of what was happening. Zack pulled out the ring and said, "I love you more than anything, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Allison quickly said yes, and tears were immediaitely shed. It was a beautiful moment, with us and our families.

Afterward we went to Sam's Boat, where we previously had one of our most memorable dates. We ate a wonderful meal with our families, and celebrated our Engagement. It was a day that neither of us can forget.
